The 36th annual Kids’ Choice Awards, hosted by NFL player Nate Burleson and TikTok sensation and “Dancing With the Stars” Mirrorball champion Charli D’Amelio, are here to recognize the finest in children’s entertainment – and to slime some people in the process. The program “will continue to put the viewers in control as they enter a wonderful surreal world and showcase extraordinary logic-defying feats; wild celebrity collaborations and games; illusions and tricks; and spectacular slimings,” according to the Nickelodeon news release.
It’s always a pleasure hosting NFL Slimetime, and I can’t wait to bring the same enthusiasm and Slime to the renowned Kids’ Choice Awards as a co-host! We’re all prepared for the stunts, surprises, and superstars that await us at this year’s show since I watched Nickelodeon growing up and my kids still enjoy it, Burleson said in a statement.
D’Amelio continued, “With me as co-host, nobody is safe after I got slimed at the KCAs in 2021 and witnessed my sister get slimed at last year’s program. This year’s event will be packed with spectacular dances, unexpected Slime shots, and unexpected stunts along the road thanks to Nate and me!
Awkwafina, Lil Baby, Halle Bailey, Pete Davidson, Michael Le, Lil Uzi Vert, Melissa McCarthy, Mr. Beast, Chris Pine, Bella Poarch, Anthony Ramos, Michelle Rodriguez, Seth Rogen, and That Girl Lay Lay will all make appearances during the show. Bebe Rexha will also perform “I’m Good (Blue)” and Young Dylan will perform “I Just Wanna,” among other well-known performers.
The inaugural King of Comedy Award will also be given to comic great Adam Sandler.
The press announcement states, “Recognized for his prodigious career in comedy over the past 30 years as an actor, writer, producer, comedian, and singer, Sandler will accept his Silver Blimp from a huge, sumptuous throne on the KCA stage, before getting crushed in Nickelodeon’s legendary Slime.
