AEW Revolution 2023 card preview
Last November at Full Gear, MJF won the AEW world championship thanks to a heel turn by William Regal. The champion thanked Regal for his efforts by sneaking up behind him and sending him to the hospital. By doing so, MJF provoked Bryan Danielson, who has regarded Regal as a mentor and close friend for decades.
Friedman did not want to defend the gold against Danielson, so he placed the typical weekly roadblocks in Dynamite’s path. Bryan won five separate matches against Konosuke Takeshita, Bandido, Brian Cage, Timothy Thatcher, and RUSH in order to earn a shot at MJF. Bryan chose the rule for this championship match, which is a 60-minute Iron Man match. The AEW world champion will leave Revolution as the man who scores the most pinfalls in one hour.
Since then, MJF has used his own failed engagement to demonstrate that anyone who has ever professed love for him discards him like trash. Everyone, however, adores the American Dragon. MJF resents Bryan for continuing to prioritize wrestling over his family despite his extensive history of concussions throughout his career. MJF intends to inflict Bryan with CTE by repeatedly punching him in the head for an hour.
