BAFTA NEWS 76th EE BAFTA Film Awards

Here’s way to watch BAFTA Awards 2023 Live online in the US & Canada

With 14 nominations, All Quiet on the Western Front shares the record for most non-English language film nominations in the history of the EE BAFTA Film Awards with Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. The Netflix World War I drama, which received nine Academy Award nominations, is up for best picture, best foreign language film, director, adapted screenplay, supporting actor, original score, casting, cinematography, editing, production design, costume design, make-up and hair, sound, and special visual effects.

Currently, All Quiet is tied with 2007’s Atonement and 2010’s The King’s Speech, both of which earned 14, for the most BAFTA nominations, behind only 1982’s Gandhi (16 nominations), which also had 14.

The Banshees of Inisherin and Everything Everywhere All At Once both received ten nominations in close succession.

Sandy Powell, a multiple BAFTA Award-winning costume designer, will receive the BAFTA Fellowship.

How to watch the BAFTAs 2023

When: February 19th at 7:00 PM GMT
TV Channel: BBC (UK)
Watch Anywhere: BritBOX

This year’s ceremony marks the first time since the 69th British Academy Film Awards (2016) that it will not take place in the Royal Albert Hall and will instead be broadcast live from the Royal Festival Hall at London’s Southbank Centre. The relocation aligns the Film Awards with the British Academy Television Awards and British Academy Gaming Awards, both of which are being presented at the Southbank Centre as part of a new agreement between BAFTA and the latter. British television personality Alison Hammond will present from backstage, providing viewers what is marketed as a “access-all-areas experience,” with BAFTA and Academy Award-nominated actor Richard E. Grant. The red carpet pre-show will also be hosted by broadcasters Vick Hope and Ali Plumb, a film critic for BBC Radio 1. Ariana DeBose, who won the BAFTA for best supporting actress last year, will do a musical opening song.

All Quiet on the Western Front leads the pack with fourteen nominations for the 76th annual BAFTA Awards, which honor both British and foreign talent.

Each of the two films, Everywhere All at Once and The Banshees of Inisherin, received ten nominations. Aimee Lou Wood, who starred in Sex Education and Living, and Daryl McCormack, who appeared in Good Luck to You, Leo Grande, and Bad Sisters, were among the few actors nominated for the EE Rising Star Award, the only honor that the British public can vote on.

Sandy Powell, a British costume designer, will also receive the BAFTA Fellowship that evening. An “exceptional accomplishment in the art forms of the moving picture” is recognized with this lifetime achievement award.
