Former WBA light middleweight champion Austin Trout of Las Cruces, New Mexico, makes his BKFC debut in the co-main event against fellow promotional newcomer and former UFC fighter Diego Sanchez of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The fight takes place in the welterweight division. At flyweight, John Dodson of Albuquerque, New Mexico takes on Jarod Grant of Pembroke Pines, Florida on the BKFC KnuckleMania 3 card. In addition, former NFL defensive end and UFC heavyweight Greg Hardy of Millington, Tennessee, will make his BKFC debut against Josh Watson of Portland, Maine. At women’s strawweight, Jayme Hinshaw of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Charisa Sigala of Rancho Cucamonga, California compete.

Hunt has been one of the most active and successful fighters in the BKFC since joining the roster, winning titles in two different divisions. Hunt has impressive victories over Hector Lombard, Joe Riggs, and Quentin Henry. Richman, a former Bellator fighter, has a perfect 4-0 record since transitioning to bare-knuckle competition. Richman won a hard-fought battle over Isaac Doolittle in October to become the interim light heavyweight champion.

KnuckleMania 3: Hunt vs Richman fight preview

BKFC KnuckleMania 3 will be held at Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Friday, February 17th. The iconic Tingley Coliseum has undergone radical upgrades over the last four years, including new energy-efficient state-of-the-art house lighting systems, a completely new arena floor and drainage system, and renovated vendor spaces. The event is scheduled to start at 8 pm ET. In his most recent fight, Richman demonstrated that he is as tough as they come. But he also explained how easily he can be moved. I don’t see him surviving if Hunt lands the same punches on him that Isaac Doolittle did. So if he tries to fight, Hunt will win. Richman, on the other hand, will win if he uses his boxing and movement skills.

Hunt will be too powerful and fast for Richman. The agile city, speed, and athleticism on display here are unparalleled. Richman is a tough fighter, but I believe Hunt is competitively superior to him. Hunt has the size advantage, but Richman has better-throwing wing hand skill. So far, no one has gone after Hunt, and I believe Richman will do just that with consistent pressure. Both are exceptional fighters with distinct styles: Richman’s is more tactical and precise, while Hunt’s is more brute force and explosive punching. It is sure to be an exciting showdown.
