Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya are preparing for their championship rematch in the main event of UFC 287 on Saturday. Pereira (7-1 MMA, 4-0 UFC), who is defending his middleweight title, weighed in at 185 pounds. Adesanya (23-2 MMA, 12-2 UFC) weighed in at 184.5 pounds.
The official weigh-ins for UFC 287 took place on Friday at the UFC host hotel in Miami. The same venue will host Saturday’s event, which will feature a pay-per-view main card following prelims on ESPN and early prelims on ESPN+.
This past November, Pereira stopped Adesanya with a fifth-round TKO in a comeback to win the middleweight title.

Jorge Masvidal takes on Gilbert Burns before main event in UFC 287
Jorge Masvidal returns to the Octagon this evening in the co-main event of UFC 287, taking on Gilbert Burns.
Masvidal will fight in front of his home crowd in Miami before the main event, which will feature Israel Adesanya vs. Alex Pereira for the middleweight title.
Masvidal hasn’t fought since March 2022, when he was outpointed by bitter rival Colby Covington for his third straight loss – following two defeats by then-champion Kamaru Usman. Meanwhile, Brazilian Burns, who most recently defeated Neil Magny in January, is another former title challenger.
Pereira defeated Adesanya for the UFC middleweight title with a TKO in November, and the Brazilian also has a points win and a knockout over the “Last Stylebender” from their kickboxing days.
Adesanya, a Nigerian-New Zealander, was on track to win their first MMA match five months ago after nearly stopping Pereira at the end of the first round. However, “Poatan” won in the final round, capping off his rapid rise up the middleweight rankings.
Before the main event, fan favorite Jorge Masvidal will face Gilbert Burns, a fellow former welterweight title challenger, in front of a home crowd in Miami.
