At the 2024 Ms. Olympia, Andrea Shaw defended her title in a closely contested battle against Angela Yeo, who had previously shocked the bodybuilding world by defeating Shaw at the Rising Phoenix Arizona Pro by a single point. Yeo’s victory set high expectations for the Olympia, with many believing she could finally dethrone the reigning champion.
Shaw, determined to reclaim her dominance, made significant changes to her preparation. She moved from Detroit to Phoenix and enlisted a new coach, focusing on refining her physique in just six weeks. The adjustments paid off, as Shaw arrived at the Olympia in peak form.
Although Yeo brought an even more impressive physique to the stage and was seen as a serious contender for her first Olympia title, Shaw’s mastery of muscle size, symmetry, conditioning, and balance gave her the edge. As the competition progressed, Shaw’s physique continued to improve, and she delivered her best performance during the Finals. Her refined package ultimately secured her fifth Ms. Olympia title, keeping Yeo at bay and maintaining her position at the top of women’s bodybuilding.
