Biden Administration To End Free Covid-19 Home Tests On Friday

Dr. Anthony Fauci, President Joe Biden’s chief medical adviser, has previously said Covid-19 will be a seasonal occurrence such as the flu or the common cold.

(Fwrd Axis) — The U.S. government will end its free Covid-19 at-home tests program on Friday, a senior Biden administration official said Sunday.

The program is ending as a result of insufficient congressional funding. The giveaway of free Covid-19 tests, which saw Americans have the opportunity to order tests free of charge, will end Friday unless there is funding from Congress, according to an announcement on the site.

CNN first reported that the Biden administration was ending the Covid-19 testing program.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, President Joe Biden’s chief medical adviser, has previously said Covid-19 will be a seasonal occurrence such as the flu or the common cold. Despite the news of the cancellation of the program, most Americans will still be able to have the option of free testing or getting reimbursed through private insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid.

Americans have ordered over 600 million tests through its Covid-19 test website CovidTests.Gov.
