Meghan Trainor To Leave “The Voice UK” Following The Conclusion Of Series 9

U.S. Pop star leaves U.K. singing show after one season

U.S. pop star Meghan Trainor is departing her spinning red chair after just one series of The Voice UK, ITV has officially confirmed.

The 26-year-old announced to her fans on Wednesday that she is pregnant with her first child and that meant she would not be able to return to the show for its 10th series in 2021.

“I wish I could come back for Season 10, but I’m taking time to start my family and want to be really safe with the current travel restrictions,” Trainor said in a statement. “I’ll be missing you all very much and hope to see you soon!”

Trainor will stay on as a coach when the ninth series of the singing competition concludes next month when it holds the live semi-final and final. She will be in Los Angeles due to travel restrictions and will be superimposed onto her chair.

“Huge congratulations to Meghan on the wonderful news she is expecting her first child,” ITV said in a statement. “Meghan has been a fantastic Coach on The Voice UK and we look forward to seeing Meghan return for the end of Series nine, coming soon to ITV.

“Everyone at The Voice UK and ITV would like to wish Meghan the very best in 2021 and beyond.”
