(Fwrd Axis) — Simon Cowell is recovering after a second accident on his electric bike, it has been confirmed.
The 62-year-old America’s Got Talent judge was hospitalized in London after he broke his arm falling off of the bike last week. Despite reports of him being “lucky to be alive”, he is expected to make a full recovery.
“He fell off his bike and broke his arm. He’s absolutely fine,” a source close to Cowell told PEOPLE.
Cowell was photographed sporting a bright yellow arm cast as seen in The Sun, who was the first to report the news of Cowell’s injury. His latest injury comes 18 months after he broke his back on an e-bike in Los Angeles.
“He was pedaling along, with his electric motor on, when the wheels suddenly went from under him after hitting a wet patch,” a source told The Sun. “He slipped and went flying over the handlebars into the middle of the road.”
“After being ambulanced to hospital and given an X-ray, Simon was eventually released that evening — his arm in a yellow cast all the way up to the shoulder — and told to rest,” the source added.
News recently broke that Cowell is engaged to his long-time girlfriend Lauren Silverman. The couple have been dating since 2004 and welcomed son Eric in February 2014. They got engaged on Christmas Eve in Barbados. The proposal took place during a family vacation when Cowell got down on one knee and popped the question.
“They are both super happy,” a source said of the couple. “They’ve been together a long time now and adore each other so it’s not a huge surprise to their close friends.”
Cowell is in the U.K. to tape the upcoming series of Britain’s Got Talent, which will return to ITV in April. Meanwhile, America’s Got Talent spin-off AGT: Extreme will premiere later this month on NBC in the U.S.
