Supreme Court’s Ruling To Overturn Roe V. Wade Sparks Nationwide Protests

(Fwrd Axis) — In the aftermath of the Supreme Court’s ruling to overturn Roe v. Wade, protests for the second consecutive day took place around the country as people angered by the decision hit the streets to make their voices heard.

From Washington, D.C. to the West Coast, thousands of people on both sides of the controversial issue filled the streets to make their voices heard. Thousands joined the racous protests after the ruling on Friday immediately made access to abortions over half the country much more difficult or nearly impossible.

In Austin, Texas, thousands of Roe v. Wade supporters packed downtown and began chanting “I believe that we will win” while pro-life supporters were expressing their delight in the decision, saying this will only help those enter a Godly light in the years to come.

In Washington, D.C., protesters gathered outside the Supreme Court building and began chanting “Women’s rights are human rights” over Roe v. Wade being overturned as they confronted a preacher to drown him out.

“Why are you trying to impose them on us?” 18-year-old Juliette Dueffert shouted back. “If you have a uterus, you can talk.”

The majority of protests around the country were peaceful with few arrests as the protest spilled over into the first-ever Unity March rally, protesting the anti-Asian violence in the United States.

“We’re fighting for abortion,” said 17-year-old Anh Nguyen told NBC News. “We’re fighting for the reduction of anti-Asian violence, protection for our communities.”

Meanwhile, in New York City, the organizers of the annual PRIDE parade announced that a member from the women’s health organization Planned Parenthood will “be the first group to step off at noon Sunday.”

“The Supreme Court’s dangerous decision puts millions in harm’s way, gives government control over our individual freedom to choose, and sets a disturbing precedent that puts many constitutional rights and freedoms in jeopardy,” the group said in a statement.
