‘America’s Got Talent’ Recap: 11 More Acts Compete For A Spot In The Finals

Who did enough to make the finals?

(Fwrd Axis) — America’s Got Talent continued on Tuesday with the second live show of the season as 11 new acts took the stage to impress the judges and audience at home to advance to the finals.

If you missed it, here’s a recap of the 11 acts and a prediction for who will make it into the America’s Got Talent finals.

The Pack Drumline

The first act of the night was actually the first act of the season. The group of drummers took to the stage and lit it up with a performance that got the judges and crowd on their feet. Sofia Vergara commented “this is how you open a show like AGT” but Simon Cowell corrected her, saying, “this is how you win a show”.

With this kind of a start, the group set the tone for the rest of the night and gave themselves a real shot at advancing.

The Brown Bros.

The singing comedians were up next, promising more instruments and impressions in this live performance. They delivered a fun performance with impressions featuring Simon, Goofy, Mickey Mouse, and more.

The judges didn’t give it a standing ovation but did say it felt like a Vegas show. Once again, the boys gave it their best shot at advancing after the Pack Drumline opened the show with a rockstar performance.

Mr. Pants

I’m not even going to waste my time with this, no.

Fusion Japan

After that snoozefest of a performance from the Pants reject, the Pasadena Civic Auditorium needed to be woken up. Luckily, Fusion Japan came out to perform some incredible stunts that got the audience on their feet.

The judges said that they are blown away by the talent this year, encouraging the audience to continue to vote since only two will make it through.

Freckled Zelda

Up next was the so-called “fairy” Freckled Zelda. While her voice was good, she just isn’t good enough for the AGT stage or someone that can be seen headlining a Vegas show. She isn’t terrible but I feel her journey ends with this performance.

Duo Rings

Next up was Duo Rings, who put together a sexy, passionate, and dangerous performance. They flew through the air without a net or support below if they fell. It earned a staging ovation from the audience and judges with Simon calling the duo the best act of the night.

Wyn Starks

This singer was up next and performed a beautiful rendition of “In The Stars” and truly moved the judges and audience, saying it was a tribute to his brother who passed away. He proved why he advanced into the live shows and gave himself a good chance.

Aiko Tanaka

The comedian was the next act up and she bombed. Her jokes weren’t funny and completely disjointed. She’s gone from this competition.

Maddie Taylor Baez

Howie’s Golden Buzzer pick, which so many thought was staged, was up next. She performed Fleetwood Mac’s “Higher Love” and belted out a solid performance. While I do feel she will advance into the next round based solely because she’s a golden buzzer choice, I do not think she is as good as the judges think she is.

Yu Hojin

The magician was the penultimate act of the evening as he performed a magic act with special photos from his life. While his performance was better than his audition, I was pretty bored with it and have seen better magic tricks in past seasons (Shin Lim, I’m looking at you!)

I do think this is the last we’ve seen of Yu.

Chapel Hart

The final act of the night saw the country singer trio rock the stage and likely cement their place in the finals. Their performance of another original song felt more like a guest performance rather than a group competing to win a show.

They are a lock for the finals.

Prediction

After everyone’s performance, Chapel Hart and Fusion Japan should be the ones advancing through in tomorrow’s results show. However, I could see Yu and Maddie getting some votes as well.

America’s Got Talent continues Wednesday night at 8/7c on NBC and streaming on Peacock with the live results show with host Terry Crews.
