WASHINGTON — First Lady Jill Biden tested positive for Covid on Monday night, the White House said in a statement.
“This evening, the First Lady tested positive for COVID-19,” the White House said in a statement. “She is currently experiencing only mild symptoms. She will remain at their home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.”
President Joe Biden tested negative and will continue to test at regular intervals, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a separate statement.
“The President will test at a regular cadence this week and monitor for symptoms,” Jean-Pierre noted.
Biden is scheduled to depart the U.S. on Thursday for a trip to India and Vietnam.
