Report: Ghislaine Maxwell Told DOJ Trump Did Not Do Anything In Her Presence

Maxwell was convicted of sex trafficking and other charges and sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2022.

Jeffrey Epstein’s associate Ghislaine Maxwell told Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche last month that she never saw President Donald Trump do anything around her that would cause concern, according to a report from ABC News.

Why it’s relevant: A source told ABC News that there is an audio recording of the interview but the Trump administration is considering releasing transcripts from the interview between Maxwell and Blanche.

  • Maxwell was convicted of sex trafficking and other charges and sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2022.
  • Maxwell’s lawyer, David Markus, that Maxwell “would welcome any relief” from her sentence.

A deeper dive: Trump was asked Tuesday if he approved Maxwell’s transfer from a federal prison to a Texas prison camp last week.

  • “I didn’t know about it at all, no. I read about it just like you did. It’s not a very uncommon thing,” he said.
