Takeaways From Trump’s 100 Day Interview With ABC News

President Donald Trump marked his 100th day in office with a rally in Michigan and a television interview with ABC News’ Terry Moran, discussing everything from his tariffs to Elon Musk.

In case you missed it, here are key takeaways from Trump’s ABC News:

‘They signed up for it’

With Americans feeling anxious with the economy with Trump’s tariffs, the President said Tuesday that despite higher prices and fears of a recession, he has delivered on his promise to lower prices.

“Well, they did sign up for it, actually. And this is what I campaigned on,” Trump said. “I said that we’ve been abused by other countries at levels that nobody’s ever seen before. I could’ve left it that way, and at some point, there would’ve been an implosion like nobody’s ever seen. But I said, ‘No, we have to fix it.’ I’ve — I’ve wanted to do this for many years.”

A debate on due process

While Trump gets his highest numbers on immigration, there continues to be questions on his methods. When responding to questions about the wrongful deportation of some people living in America, the President said “they seem to work”.

“Well, they get a process where we have to get ’em out, yeah,” Trump replied. “If people come into our country illegally there’s a different standard. These are illegal. They came in illegally.”

Trump praises DOGE

When speaking about the Department of Government Efficiency, Trump was asked if DOGE had gone “too far, too fast, too recklessly.”

“No,” Trump answered.
