WASHINGTON — House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner issued a statement Tuesday, warning of “serious national security threat” without providing additional details.
Sources familiar with the matter confirmed to Fwrd Axis News the threat is Russia wanting to put a nuclear weapon into space.
President Joe Biden has been tracking the threat and directed national security adviser Jake Sullivan to brief congressional leaders, according to two U.S. officials.
Turner said he’s requesting that Biden “declassify all information relating to this threat so that Congress, the Administration, and our allies can openly discuss the actions necessary to respond to this threat.”
“We are going to work together to address this matter, as we do all sensitive matters that are classified,” House Speaker Mike Johnson told reporters.
Sources say the threat is linked to “a destabilizing foreign military capability that should be known by all Congressional Policy Makers.”
Sullivan was pressed several times by reporters about the threat but declined to say or provide further details about it.
“Americans understand that there are a range of threats and challenges in the world that we are dealing with every single day,” he said. “I am confident that President Biden, in the decisions that he is taking, is going to ensure the security of the American people.”
Sullivan did express confusion at Turner leaking the information prior to Thursday’s briefing without providing details.
“So I am a bit surprised that Congressman Turner came out today,” he said.
