(Fwrd Axis) –– America’s Got Talent continued on Wednesday night with its second results show of the season as two more acts advanced into the live shows.
Tuesday night saw 11 more acts perform for the judges and viewing audience at home. After everyone had voted, it was now time to see who the next two acts to advance to the finals. Host Terry Crews asked judge and show executive producer Simon Cowell why the live show format changed this season.
“We did it because the live shows started to get boring over the years because to me everybody should bring their A-game,” Cowell said. “Of course, nine people go home. Some people may not like it; tough for them.”
Terry announced the first two acts into the top five were Duo Rings and Maddie. The Brown Brothers, Yu Hojin, and Chapel Hart rounded out the top five acts still in the running to make the finals.
Jon Dorenbos from Season 16 of AGT returned as a guest to perform a football magic trick with the NFL season right around the corner.
Terry then returned to announce the top three acts from Tuesday night. He revealed Yu Hojin, Maddie and Chapel Hart all made the top three, meaning Duo Rings and The Brown Brothers were sent home.
After a commercial break, Terry announced Chapel Hart had advanced into the finals.
“You sang your way into America’s heart and my heart,” judge Heidi Klum said.
It was then time for the final result of the night, leaving Yu Hojin and Maddie. Terry announced magician Yu Hojin advanced into the finals, joining Chapel Hart, Drake Milligan, and Avery Dixon.
America’s Got Talent airs Tuesday and Wednesday nights at 8/7c with host Terry Crews on NBC and streaming on Peacock.
