NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Anthony Quinn Warner was named as the bomber from the Christmas day explosion in downtown Nashville by Federal and state officials on Sunday. Authorities would confirm he died in the explosion.
Metro Police Chief John Drake confirmed there is no danger to the city and officials believe Warner acted alone in the bombing. Quinn was named as a person of interest and that led federal investigators to search his home. DNA was collected from relatives and it matched the human remains found at the scene of the explosion.
The Christmas morning explosion injured three people and damaged more than 41 buildings. No motive for the bombing was given by police.
While there is no known motive for the bombing, officials are looking into the possibility that the AT&T building may have been the target. The RV was parked outside the AT&T data center and the blast caused widespread interruption to the company’s services.
