Tuesday night’s Big Brother UK saw the housemates nominate for the first time, resulting in four of them facing the public vote this week.
After the first round of nominations in this series, Cameron B, Elsa, George, and Richard will all face the public vote this week, with viewers voting for the housemate they want to save from eviction.
George received the most nominations with six. Cameron B received four nominations, with Elsa also receiving four. Richard was automatically put up for eviction as a result of the “cursed eye” twist.
His nomination came after he was given a formal warning in the last episode for his actions regarding his fellow housemate, Sam.
In his nomination, George put up Sam and said that while he did apologize, he felt what he did “was not that deep” and that Sam needed to be “a bit tougher”. Meanwhile, Sam nominated George because he feels he does not “come from a place of empathy”.
Elsewhere in the episode, Caroline stunned her fellow housemates when she made transphobic remarks about her fellow housemate Zelah Glasson, a transgender male, during a party game.
Caroline was given a formal warning for the remarks that came about when she asked pansexual housemate Nancy, whom she would most like to sleep with.
The next morning, Big Brother read back Caroline’s comments to her.
“Caroline, you said to Nancy ‘If you could shag anyone in the House, no no we’re on a desert island and there is one person left, you might be able to make babies to get a new civilisation, who would you shag?’
“Nancy said, ‘So, it has to be a guy?’ Jenny said ‘She’s pansexual’
“Caroline, you said ‘Is she pansexual? Do you like pans?’
“Zelah said ‘Maybe just ask her who she is most attracted to?’”
Big Brother went on: “Nancy then answered ‘Zelah’.
“Caroline, you said to Zelah ‘She’s a girl. No you’re not.’
“Teja shouts, ‘Caroline!’
“Caroline, you said, ‘But you haven’t got a willy. Is that really bad?”
“Caroline, Big Brother thinks that your language in these instances was offensive and unacceptable and cannot permit you to use language in a way that could cause offence to your fellow Housemates and the viewing public,” the all-seeing eye concluded.
Big Brother UK airs on ITV2 and ITVX at 9pm BST from Sundays through Fridays.
