Harris Rips Into Trump, Project 2025 In First Campaign Rally

The Vice President said the November election is a ‘choice between freedom and chaos’.

WEST ALLIS, MI — Vice President Kamala Harris held her first rally of her presidential campaign in battleground Wisconsin on Tuesday, ripping into her Republican rival Donald Trump and his extreme agenda.

Taking the stage to thunderous applause, Harris told the crowd of over 3,000 in West Allis, Wisconsin, that her experience as a prosecutor will help her make the case against Trump.

“I took on perpetrators of all kinds. Predators who abused women, fraudsters who ripped off consumers. Cheaters who broke the rules for their own game. So hear me when I say, I know Donald Trump’s type,” she said as the crowd chanted “Kamala!” in response.

The rally came less than 24 hours after she secured enough delegates to officially clinch the Democratic presidential nomination and raised over $100 million in 36 hours.

I am told as of this morning that we have earned the support of enough delegates to secure the Democratic nomination. And I am so very honored, and I pledge to you, I will spend the coming weeks continuing to unite our party so that we are ready to win in November,” Harris said.

She attacked Trump, his running mate JD Vance, and Project 2025. Harris said her campaign is “focused on the future,” while Trump’s is “focused on the past.”

“We’ll stop Donald Trump’s extreme abortion bans because we trust women to make decisions about their own body and not have the government tell them what to do,” Harris said. “And when Congress passes the law to restore reproductive freedoms, as president of the United States, I will sign it into law.”

The campaign stop in Wisconsin is her ninth visit in her vice presidential term and her fifth visit to the state this year, her campaign said in a press release.

Leaning on her time as a prosecutor, Harris made the case against Trump, putting the spotlight on his criminal record.

“As a prosecutor, I specialized in sexual abuse,” she said, while “Trump was found liable for committing sexual abuse.” Harris said she took on big Wall Street banks and held them up accountable for fraud, while “Donald Trump was just found guilty of fraud on 34 counts.”

While President Joe Biden’s campaign message was about him versus Trump, Harris said her campaign is about more than that; it is about the American people and the future of America.

“Ultimately in this election we each face a question: What kind of country do we want to live in?” Harris said. “Do we want to live in a country of freedom, compassion and rule of law, or a country of chaos, fear and hate?”

“We each have the power to answer that question,” she added. “The power is with the people.”
