Florida authorities reported that Tiger Woods was arrested and charged with driving under the influence on Friday afternoon after he was involved in a rollover crash.

The crash happened shortly before 2 p.m. in Jupiter Island, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office said. There were no injuries in the crash, which also involved a truck pulling a trailer.

According to law enforcement officials, Woods, 50, was driving a dark Land Rover and clipped the truck.

Woods’ SUV rolled on the driver’s side door. The golfer climbed out of the window, officials said.

Neither Woods nor the truck driver were injured.

Law enforcement officers suspected Woods of impairment. He agreed to a breath test but refused a urine test. Officials stated that he claimed to have taken medication for previous injuries.

In 2021, the golfer was injured in a rollover crash in Rolling Hills Estates in Southern California. Authorities reported that the driver was exceeding the speed limit by at least twice in a 45 mph zone when his Genesis GV80 SUV collided with a tree. As a result, the vehicle was airborne and subsequently landed on its side.

Officials initially reported no signs of impairment, but this revelation sparked some criticism. The investigation faced scrutiny for not obtaining a search warrant for the golfer’s blood samples, which could have revealed any evidence of alcohol or drugs.

Woods was not charged in that 2021 crash.
