Trump Administration Offering Buyouts To 2 Million Federal Workers

A senior administration official confirmed to Fwrd Axis News that 5%-10% of the federal workforce could decide to resign.

WASHINGTON — The Trump administration is set to present two million federal workers with an option to resign in a “deferred resignation” package, which includes a severance package if they choose not to return to in-person work.

A senior administration official confirmed to Fwrd Axis News that 5%-10% of the federal workforce could decide to resign from their positions.

“American taxpayers pay for the salaries of federal government employees, and therefore deserve employees working on their behalf who actually show up to work in our wonderful federal buildings, also paid for by taxpayers,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement. “If they don’t want to work in the office and contribute to making America great again, then they are free to choose a different line of work, and the Trump Administration will provide a very generous payout of 8 months.”

Axios first reported the buyout offer from the Trump administration.

All federal employees will receive an email simultaneously, containing a draft resignation letter for their review. If the employee chooses to resign, they can simply reply with the word “resign.”

“If you choose to remain in your current position, we thank you for your renewed focus on serving the American people to the best of your abilities and look forward to working together as part of an improved federal workforce,” the email that will be sent to federal workers reads. “At this time, we cannot give you full assurance regarding the certainty of your position or agency but should your position be eliminated you will be treated with dignity and will be afforded the protections in place for such positions.”

Postal workers, members of the military, immigration officials, certain unspecified national security roles, and any other role that agencies deem as being necessary will not be able to opt in, the sources said.

Tech mogul Elon Musk, the head of the newly created Department of Government Efficiency, sent a similar email to Twitter employees when he took over as the CEO.

The move is the latest attempt by the White House to force career federal workers out of their jobs, and replace them with Trump loyalists.
