VANDALIA, Ohio — President Donald Trump rallied in Ohio on Saturday, unleashing profane attacks on Democrats while suggesting he may be less inclined to help the state if Republicans lose the midterms in November.
Speaking at a rally for Republican candidates U.S. Senator Jon Husted and Ohio gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, the President predicted a ‘big surprise’ in November.
“I think we’re going to have a big surprise, because they don’t know what’s happening,” Trump said.
“Just get out and vote,” Trump added. “If you do that, we’re going to win, and we’re going to win big. And we’re going to shove it up their ass.”
The President’s speech was held in the Butler High School gym, which seats 5,000, a smaller venue than previous Trump rallies. Several stretches of empty seats appeared in the upper bleachers as Trump took the stage, and more appeared when he wrapped up over an hour later.

Trump suggested he may not help Amy Acton, the Democratic candidate, if she defeats incumbent Sen. Husted. He said a win would give Ohio officials a direct line to his administration and make it easier for the state to secure federal help.
“Husted, now that he’s a senator, he’s a pain in the ass. He calls me all the time. He always wants money. Think of it — if an Amy Acton got in, I don’t know anything about her … I’m not gonna help her probably.”
“When I run, we win,” Trump continued. “But for some reason, when I don’t run, they draw 44% less people. So what I’m going to do is ask you to just pretend that I’m running, because if we do, and if you draw the people, you’re going to win, and we’re going to win big.”
Polls indicate that Democrats may gain ground in the upcoming midterms, which will determine control of the closely divided House of Representatives and Senate.
