LONDON — Alison “Ali” Bromley emerged victorious in the series finale of Big Brother UK 2024, defeating Marcello Spooks in the final showdown to claim the coveted £90,000 prize.
Hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best recapped the last 41 days of house action, concluding with Bromley’s series win, making history as the first lesbian and oldest female winner.
“I didn’t think I would win, I feel like I made a few right calls in [the house] but I didn’t call this,” Bromley said in her exit interview.
Odudu then revealed to Bromley she won the series with 51.9% of the vote.
“I had no game plan, I was just myself from the beginning to the end. Sometimes I made mistakes, sometimes I didn’t get things right, but overall I was authentic and I hope that people connected to that,” Bromley said.
Earlier in the evening, the hosts announced that Segun Shodipo finished in sixth place, while Nathan King was in fifth. After exiting the house, Shodipo told AJ and Will that he felt “so good” to be reunited with his mum.
In an interview following his eviction, Shodipo addressed his relationship with fellow housemate Hanah Haji, who finished in fourth place. The pair had been accused of engaging in flirty behavior within the house.
“Me and Hanah are very amicable, she’s my sister,” he said. “We’re family, I’m her brother,” he said. “Although there was a lot of animosity in the air, we left things very civil, better than civil.”
Runner-up Marcello reflected on his time in the house, saying: “I came in here to show love and to make people laugh. Whether I achieved that or not, I’ll find out when I leave.”
Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother will return to ITV in 2025, with the celebrity edition airing in spring.
