At least two people were detained following a SWAT team search of a Tucson-area neighborhood near Nancy Guthrie’s home, according to reports.
It was not known as of this writing whether the people are considered suspects.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the “law enforcement activity” was taking place just two miles from Guthrie’s home. Guthrie has not been seen since January 31 in the suspected kidnapping.
“Because this is a joint investigation, at the request of the FBI – no additional information is currently available,” a statement from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said early Saturday morning.
NewsNation reported that officers at the SWAT raid ordered the man and the woman out of the house, and they complied with their request.

Fox News, citing an unnamed local law enforcement source, said that at least three people were detained at two different locations in connection with the alleged kidnapping of Guthrie, who is the mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie.
The raid came just hours after it was reported that DNA found at the home did not match anyone close to Nancy Guthrie.
Earlier this week, the FBI released images and video of a person seen on the porch of Nancy Guthrie’s home the morning she disappeared. Authorities are looking for a male, who is 5’9” to 5’10” tall, with an average build. He was wearing a black, 24-liter Ozark Trail Hiker Pack backpack based on the video.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said “several items of evidence” have been recovered, including gloves. The evidence is being analyzed, authorities said.
The sheriff’s department is utilizing Ring’s Neighbors app to connect with residents in the vicinity. They are requesting any video footage from January 1st to February 2nd that includes vehicles, vehicle traffic, people or pedestrians, and anything that neighbors deem unusual or relevant to their investigation.
Investigators arrived at Nancy Guthrie’s home on Thursday morning to briefly erect a white tent — typically used for privacy — outside her front door.
Investigators took the tent down after about an hour and drove away in unmarked vehicles with a large Pelican case labeled “video forensics.”
In a new Instagram post on Thursday, Savannah Guthrie shared an old home video from her childhood, showing her and her sister with their mother, Nancy Guthrie. The video is followed by a still photo of all three siblings with Nancy Guthrie.
“[O]ur lovely mom,” Savannah Guthrie wrote in the caption. “we will never give up on her. thank you for your prayers and hope.”
