Not Done Yet! Tom Brady Announces Return For 23rd Season

(Fwrd Axis) — He’s not done yet. After announcing his retirement just over a month ago, legendary quarterback Tom Brady announced he’s reversed course and will return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for his 23rd season in the NFL.

Brady announced his decision on social media, saying he couldn’t bear to be a spectator.

“These past two months I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands,” Brady said in the tweet. “That time will come. But it’s not now. I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible. I’m coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa.”

Brady announced his decision to retire on February 1, saying he wanted to focus on family. However, on the “Let’s Go!” podcast, he hinted he could change his mind in the future, saying “never say never”.

“You never say never,” he said on the podcast. “And you know, at the same time, I know that I’m very, I feel very good about my decision. So, I don’t know how I’ll feel six months from now. It could change.”

Tampa Bay was eliminated from the playoffs after losing to the eventual champions, the Los Angeles Rams. There was speculation about Brady’s future following the game, suggesting he would return after narrowly losing to Los Angeles.

Brady retired holding the league records for passing yards (84,520) while completing 7,263 passes on 11,317 attempts. He also held a record of 243-73 all-time throughout his career.

As they say, age is just a number and Brady is proving that.

“I don’t think it’s, you know, a physical thing,” Brady said. “I mean, it does require a lot of time and energy. You know, it’s just the nature of football and if you want to be good at it, you got to commit all the time and energy you can to it.”
