(Fwrd Axis) – Reggie Bird was crowned the winner of Big Brother Australia 2022 on Tuesday night, taking home the title of “Greatest Housemate of All Time” and the $250,000 prize that goes along with it.
Bird won the public vote, defeating runners-up Johnson Ashak and Taras Hrubyi-Piper to take home the crown.
With the win, Bird became the first person in Big Brother Australia history to win the show twice after winning her original season back in 2003.
“Thank you all so much, I hope I did you all proud,” Reggie told host Sonia Kruger moments after her win.
Elsewhere in the finale, secrets from the season and what happened to the housemates post-show. Sam Manovski and Anthony Drew revealed they did not work out once they both gave things a try in the outside world.
“He lives in Melbourne and I live in Queensland,” Manovski said. “We got to know each other outside the house and we’re just two different people.”
After that epic Twitter feud between Estelle Landy and Tim Dormer, both revealed they have spoken but are on the road to repairing their friendship and it is a work in progress.
The massive question of the season was if Drew was talking about evicting Sam from the house in that controversial deal he made with Joel. After some waffling, Drew finally admitted what we all knew and said he was talking about Sam.
It wouldn’t be a finale without looking back at the 21 years that Big Brother has been on air and remembering all the fun moments over the course of the season.
Channel 7 has not announced if Big Brother Australia will return for another series. Ratings were much lower than all three seasons of the revamped version, likely disappointing bosses at the network, leaving hopes of a renewal hanging in the balance.
