The San Antonio Spurs began the first full day of NBA free agency by acquiring two new players in a three-team trade, according to reports.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported early Saturday morning that San Antonio had acquired Cedi Osman, Lamar Stevens, and a second-round pick from the Cleveland Cavaliers. As a result, the Cavaliers signed free agent Max Strus to a 4-year, $64 million deal while the Miami Heat received picks in the process.
Osman has been linked to the Spurs in years past. Last season with Cleveland, he averaged 8.7 points and shot 37% from three-point range. With Keita Bates-Diop signing with the Phoenix Suns, Osman is expected to slide into that role with his expiring contract.
Stevens played just 25 games with the Cavaliers last season, averaging 5.3 points and 3.3 rebounds per game.
