Harris Begins Campaign With Historic $81M Fundraising Day

Harris’ campaign announced that it brought in $81 million in the first 24 hours.

WASHINGTON — Vice President Kamala Harris began her presidential campaign with a historic fundraising day just one day after President Joe Biden stepped aside as the Democratic nominee.

Harris’ campaign announced that it brought in $81 million in the first 24 hours, the largest amount for a Democratic campaign ever in a 24 hour period and of this election cycle for any Democrat or Republican.

ActBlue, the digital fundraising platform favored by the Democratic Party, announced they had raised $46.7 million to campaigns and groups, making it ActBlue’s biggest fundraising day of the election.

The figure is the largest sum of money in a 24 hour period for the Democrats since 2020 when donations poured in following Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s death.

ActBlue said then that donors gave more than $70.6 million using the platform the day after Ginsburg died.
