Jeffrey Epstein’s associate Ghislaine Maxwell told Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche last month that she never saw President Donald Trump do anything around her that would cause concern, according to a report from ABC News.
Why it’s relevant: A source told ABC News that there is an audio recording of the interview but the Trump administration is considering releasing transcripts from the interview between Maxwell and Blanche.
- Maxwell was convicted of sex trafficking and other charges and sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2022.
- Maxwell’s lawyer, David Markus, that Maxwell “would welcome any relief” from her sentence.
A deeper dive: Trump was asked Tuesday if he approved Maxwell’s transfer from a federal prison to a Texas prison camp last week.
- “I didn’t know about it at all, no. I read about it just like you did. It’s not a very uncommon thing,” he said.
