With questions swirling around his fitness for office and his health, former President Donald Trump kicked off his rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday with a bizarre 12-minute story about Arnold Palmer, at one point commenting on the golfer’s penis size.
Speaking in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, where Palmer was born in 1929, Trump opened his remarks by telling his supporters a bizarre story about Palmer, saying he was “all man” and it would be a better night if Palmer, who died in 2016, was on stage with him.
“Arnold Palmer was all man, and I say that in all due respect to women,” Trump said. “This is a guy that was all man.”
Things then took an even weirder turn when Trump said, without evidence, that golfers allegedly spoke about Palmer’s penis size.
“When he took the showers with other pros, they came out of there. They said, ‘Oh my God. That’s unbelievable,’” he said. “I had to say. We have women that are highly sophisticated here, but they used to look at Arnold as a man.”
The Trump campaign had previously said that the former president’s speech would be “previewing his closing argument” but instead he played through all of his usual hits about the size of his crowds, Elizabeth Warren, and lashed out against Vice President Kamala Harris.
“Bernie is radical left, and this one, Kamala, is further left,” Trump told the crowd. “And then, so you have to tell Kamala Harris that you’ve had enough, that you just can’t take it anymore. We can’t stand you. You’re a shit vice president.”
Trump added the catchphrase from his now-canceled television show “The Apprentice” to cheers: “Kamala, you’re fired”.
The former president has ramped up his insults on Harris’ intelligence, referring to her as “not a smart person” or having a “low IQ.”
Trump also claimed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called him to discuss Israel’s ongoing war with Gaza.
“Bibi called me today and he said, it’s incredible what’s happened. They said it’s pretty incredible. But he wouldn’t listen to Biden, because if he did, they wouldn’t be in this position,” he said.
Harris, campaigning in Georgia on Saturday, slammed Trump for his rambling and going off script during his rallies.
“He tends to go off script and ramble and generally for the life of him cannot finish a thought,” she said. “And he has called it the weave. But I think we here call it nonsense.”
Former President Barack Obama, stumping for Harris in Las Vegas on Saturday, also took the time to discuss Trump’s bizarre and weird behavior.
“We do not need to see what an older, loonier Trump looks like with no guardrails,” Obama said.
