ERIE, Pa. — Vice President Kamala Harris unveiled a new attack line against former President Donald Trump, calling him “increasingly unstable” as she used Trump’s own words against him at her rally in Pennsylvania on Monday night.

Speaking in Erie, Pennsylvania, Harris emphasized her plans to improve the economy and showed clips of Trump calling his opponents the “enemy within” to the crowd.

“After all these years, we know who Donald Trump is: He is someone who will stop at nothing to claim power for himself,” Harris said. “And you don’t have to take my word for it. I’ve said, for a while now, watch his rallies, listen to his words.”

Harris has previously invited her supporters to watch Trump’s rallies to see his actions first hand but Monday marked the first time that she played clips of Trump’s own words to the crowd at her rallies.

“He tells us who he is, and he tells us what he would do if he is elected president. So here tonight, I will show you one example of Donald Trump’s worldview and intentions,” Harris said.

“The worst people are the enemies from within,” Trump says in one clip.

“Now if you had one really violent day, one rough hour, and I mean real rough,” he says in another.

“So, you heard his words. You heard his words coming from him. He’s talking about the enemy within Pennsylvania. He’s talking about the enemy within our country, Pennsylvania,” Harris said.

“He considers anyone who doesn’t support him or who will not bend to his will, an enemy of our country,” she added.

Elsewhere in her speech, Harris touted her record and endorsements of her economic plan by well-known economists.

Harris’ visit to Erie highlights the importance of how critical the county is for her chances of winning the state. Erie voted Barack Obama in 2012 to Trump in 2016 to Joe Biden in 2020.

“We’re all here together because we know what’s at stake,” Harris said. “We are here together because we love our country.”
