How to watch 2024 Emmys in Canada: The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards Red Carpet, Main Event live stream, TV, and more

2024 Emmys

The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards will honor the best in American prime-time television programming from June 1, 2023, until May 31, 2024, as chosen by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, with the 76th Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards on September 7 and 8 at the Peacock Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, California. The ceremony will be held on September 15, 2024, and will be broadcast in the United States on ABC. This will be the second Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony to be held in 2024; the 75th ceremony was delayed from September 2023 to January 15, 2024, due to the 2023 Hollywood labor disputes. The ceremony will be produced by Jesse Collins Entertainment and hosted by Eugene Levy and Dan Levy.

Earlier this year, the 2023 Emmys aired in an unusual January slot after being postponed due to the concurrent Hollywood strikes. Now, we get the unique pleasure of watching two Emmys ceremonies in one calendar year, with the 2024 Emmys airing live on Sunday, September 15, 2024. This year’s Emmys will be broadcast live from the Peacock Theater in Downtown Los Angeles and will honor and recognize television programming from June 1, 2023 to May 31, 2024.

Who is hosting the 2024 Emmys?

The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards will be hosted by father-son duo Eugene Levy and Dan Levy. The actors shared that they hope to bring a “kinder, gentler approach” to hosting the event; instead of framing the gig like a hard-hitting stand-up routine, they are focusing on making the ceremony “feel celebratory.”

“It’s always hit me in a funny way when jokes are done at the expense of people who are nominated — they’ve put in the work, and it’s their night, really, and you have to have enough respect for the awards show itself,” Eugene recently told the Los Angeles Times. “Otherwise, why are we here?”

“People, from what I’ve been told, are kind of excited that we’re not hard-edged comics, that there will be a kind of warmth to the room,” Dan added in the interview. “It’s trying to marry all of those things without being boring, ultimately. But we’re getting there.”
