WASHINGTON (Fwrd Axis) — Donald Trump has been hinting he is running for president again in 2024 since leaving office but after the FBI raided his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida, he is now reportedly inching even closer to announcing his intentions sooner than originally planned.
“If he wasn’t running before, he is now,” a person close to Trump said. “It pisses him off that they can do this to him. One way to get it to stop is to control the government again.”
As soon as the FBI raid was announced, Trump and his GOP allies quickly called out the Justice Department, saying the move was “politically motivated” as he has hinted at his intentions in a potential rematch with President Joe Biden.
“They are terrified he’s going to announce any day that he’s running for president in 2024,” Lara Trump said on Fox News Monday night. “And this is a very convenient way to just throw a little more mud on Donald Trump as though they haven’t already done enough.”
The New York Times was the first outlet that reported on Monday that the focus for the raid was regarding the National Archives materials that were taken from the White House when Trump left office.
“All of a sudden, 30 agents descend upon Mar-a-Lago,” Eric Trump told Fox News on Monday. “You know who this came from — this came from one place and one building, and that is the White House in Washington, D.C. They want to attack a guy who they view is the greatest threat — is Biden’s greatest threat. And that is exactly what Donald J. Trump is.”
A White House official told FWRD AXIS News the White House nor President Biden had any advanced notice of the FBI’s plans.
Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre reiterated that point on Tuesday during the daily press briefing.
“No one at the White House was given a heads up about the search warrant executed on Mar-a-Lago,” she said.
Trump reportedly wants to move up the date of his official announcement but there is no evidence supporting that the raid will prove to boost Trump. However, what is evident is Fox News and other conservative outlets will push to say the government’s actions will provoke a backlash.
And that may be all Trump needs to seek another run for office.
