‘America’s Got Talent’ has crowned the winner of its milestone 20th season.
In a full circle moment, Jessica Sanchez, who made the semifinals in the very first season of the talent competition, was crowned the winner of AGT Season 20 on Wednesday night in the live season finale.
Sanchez beat runner-up, freestyle rapper English Chris Turner, and walked away with the title of AGT champion and the $1 million grand prize.
“I’m sorry, I’m really emotional, this is amazing,” she told host Terry Crews just moments after he announced her as the winner. “Thank you so much, America!”
During the audition rounds, Sanchez earned the Golden Buzzer from judge Sofia Vergara.
“I feel like it was all clicking… ‘I’m pregnant, and I was here 20 years ago,’ and we’re on the 20th season, and she sang the way she did. I mean, you deserve it,” Vergara told Sanchez after her audition.

Sanchez first auditioned for the show as a 10-year-old on season 1. In the finale, the 30-year-old performed “Die With A Smile” by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars, wowing both the judges and the audience.
Before the announcement of the results, the finalists performed with celebrity guests. Multi-platinum musician Manuel Turizo, performing with Micah Palace and The Script singer Danny O’Donoghue, joined Jourdan Blue to perform their single, “Breakeven.” Following their performance, Danny invited Jordan on tour with the band.
AGT alumni Piff the Magic Dragon, Shin Lim, and Mat Franco, who all have Vegas residencies, returned to perform a legendary magic act.
America’s Got Talent is currently holding virtual auditions for Season 21. The show is now airing on Peacock.
