Former Vice President Kamala Harris isn’t closing the door on another run for the White House.
Speaking to the BBC on Saturday, Harris said she expects a woman will be president in the years ahead, and when pressed, said it could “possibly” be her.
“I am not done,” she said.
Harris’ comments are her strongest suggestion yet that she is considering a third bid for the White House. The former vice president said she hasn’t decided whether to run in 2028 but dismissed polling that shows her with challenges in a crowded primary field.
“I have lived my entire career a life of service, and it’s in my bones. And there are many ways to serve,” she said.

“If I listened to polls, I would have not run for my first office, or my second office — and I certainly wouldn’t be sitting here,” she added.
Harris lost the 2024 Election to now-President Donald Trump after former President Joe Biden decided to step down from his re-election campaign 107 days before Election Day.
In Harris’ book, titled “107 Days”, she said she would not seek higher office in the future, saying changing the system from within isn’t possible. However, in her interview with BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg, she said her grandnieces would “in their lifetime, for sure” see a woman president.
When asked whether that woman could be her, Harris answered, “Possibly”.
In the interview, Harris said she believes her predictions about Trump’s authoritarian administration are proving to be correct just nine months into his second term.
“He said he would weaponize the Department of Justice — and he has done exactly that,” she said.
She pointed to the week-long suspension of late-night host Jimmy Kimmel by ABC after comments about Charlie Kirk’s death as evidence.
“You look at what has happened in terms of how he has weaponized, for example, federal agencies going around after political satirists. His skin is so thin he couldn’t endure criticism from a joke and attempted to shut down an entire media organization in the process,” she said.
Harris also slammed American businesses and business leaders for cozying up to Trump.
“There are many, that have capitulated since day one, who are bending the knee at the foot of a tyrant, I believe for many reasons, including they want to be next to power, because they want to perhaps have a merger approved or avoid an investigation,” she said.
