Putin Says Russia Is ‘Committed’ To Restart Talks With Ukraine

Putin said he would speak to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan about holding talks in Turkey next week.

MOSCOW — Russian President Vladimir Putin said Sunday that Moscow is committed to restart direct talks with Ukraine about ending their war.

Putin said he would speak to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan about holding talks in Turkey next week.

The Russian President’s comments came as leaders from the United Kingdom, France, Poland and Germany threatened to increase sanctions against the Russia if Putin does not accept an unconditional, 30-day ceasefire.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz all made the demands.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
