Elon Musk Issues Ultimatum To Federal Workers: Show Your Work Or Resign

Some federal workers have already begun receiving those emails, according to a source familiar with the matter.

Tech billionaire Elon Musk issued a new ultimatum to federal employees Saturday, posting on X that all federal employees must respond to an email justifying the work they completed this week or resign.

Some federal workers have already begun receiving those emails, according to a source familiar with the matter.

“Consistent with President @realDonaldTrump’s instructions, all federal employees will shortly receive an email requesting to understand what they got done last week. Failure to respond will be taken as a resignation,” Musk wrote.

The email was sent from the Office of Personnel Management, asking employees to send five bullet points listing what they accomplished for the week, CC’ing their managers. However, it remains unclear what the criteria are to judge the responses and who will review the emails.

The email has sent shockwaves through the federal workforce, with some wondering if this will affect those employees who are on sick leave or vacation. One federal worker told Fwrd Axis News that the uncertainty was the biggest worry.

“I don’t even know if I will have a job next week or next month,” the worker said.

Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), President Donald Trump called Musk a “patriot” and urged him to get even more aggressive.

“Elon is doing a great job, he’s doing a great job. We love Elon, don’t we? He’s a character, with his son X,” Trump said. “We love X. He’s a patriot. People said, what official position does he have? I said, patriot.”

Later in a post on Truth Social, Trump went further, saying “we have a country to save”.

“ELON IS DOING A GREAT JOB, BUT I WOULD LIKE TO SEE HIM GET MORE AGGRESSIVE. REMEMBER, WE HAVE A COUNTRY TO SAVE, BUT ULTIMATELY, TO MAKE GREATER THAN EVER BEFORE. MAGA!” Trump’s post read.

Musk responded on X: “Will do, Mr. President.”
