WASHINGTON — Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said on Monday that he has tested positive for Covid-19 despite being fully vaccinated.

Graham released a statement on Monday and said he began experiencing flu-like symptoms Saturday night and will now quarantine for 10 days.

“I feel like I have a sinus infection and at present time I have mild symptoms,” he said. “I am very glad I was vaccinated because without vaccination I am certain I would not feel as well as I do now. My symptoms would be far worse.”

Over the weekend, Graham attended a party on Sen. Joe Manchin’s (D-W Va.) houseboat, according to Graham’s office. Also in attendance was Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ). The event was meant to bring the senators together to continue working out the details of the bipartisan infrastructure deal.

“Senator Manchin is fully vaccinated and following the CDC guidelines for those exposed to a COVID positive individual,” Manchin’s office said in a statement.

The news of Graham’s positive Covid-19 test comes just weeks after a White House staff member and a senior aide in House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office both tested positive for Covid-19.
