KALAMAZOO, Mich. — With just 10 days to go until Election Day, Michelle Obama called on men to support Kamala Harris, issuing a stark warning that women’s lives would be at risk if Donald Trump is re-elected in November.

Speaking in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where early voting began statewide on Saturday. Obama reminded voters of the stakes after reproductive rights were taken away after the Supreme Court’s ruling on Roe v. Wade and how some men might want to vote for Trump because of their frustration on slow progress and some, just because it is funny.

”If we don’t get this election right, your wife, your daughter, your mother, we as women will become collateral damage to your rage,” Obama said. “So are you as men prepared to look into the eyes of the women and children you love and tell them you supported this assault on our safety?”

“Some people think ‘oh he’s funny’ but remember that’s how he won the first time. And we all know how that turned out, y’all,” she added.

The appearance by Obama comes with just 10 days to go as Harris is beginning her closing message to the American people. Obama’s words were passionate in their support of Harris and called out those who set double standards for the Vice President but also excuse Trump.

“Y’all know I hate politics,” Obama said. “But I hate to see folks taken advantage of even more. I’m still concerned some are believing the lies from people who do not have your best interest at heart.”

Can someone tell me why we are once again holding Kamala to a higher standard than her opponent?,” she continued. We expect her to be intelligent and articulate. To prove time and again she belongs. But for Donald Trump, we expect nothing at all.”

“By every measure, she has demonstrated that she’s ready,” the former first lady said. “The real question is, as a country, are we ready for this moment?”

As Harris took the stage, she vowed she would keep the interests of the American people in mind and argued Trump only cares about himself.

“There is a yearning in our country for a president who sees the people, not just looking in the mirror all the time, but sees the people, who gets you and who will fight for you,” she said.

More than 1.4 million ballots have already been submitted, representing 20% of registered voters.

President Joe Biden spoke for Harris at an event for Laborers’ International Union of North America in Pittsburgh on Saturday. He called out Trump and supported his vice president in the process.

“He views unions as getting in the way of the accumulation of wealth for individuals,” Biden said of Trump. “It’s in labor’s interest to defeat Donald Trump, more than any other race you’ve been in.”

“I’m just gonna say straight up, he’s a loser as a man,” he added.

He also said that women deserve more opportunities than they’ve received in the past.

“They can do anything any man can do, including be president of the United States of America,” Biden said.
