Report: Trump Organization To Be Charged Thursday

The criminal charges would be the first against former President Donald Trump’s company since prosecutors began investigating it three years ago.

The Trump Organization along with CFO Allen Weisselberg are expected to be charged Thursday, according to a report from the Wall Street Journal.

The criminal charges would be the first against former President Donald Trump’s company since prosecutors began investigating it three years ago. Trump will see the charges as a blow as he continues to hint at another run for the White House in 2024.

The Trump Organization and Weisselburg are going to be charged with allegedly evading taxes on fringe benefits, according to the report.

Weisselberg is expected to turn himself into prosecutors Thursday morning.

The charges come after a three-year investigation that started on an inquiry into the company’s accounting connected to hush-money payments made by former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen. Later it showed to include questions about employees not paying taxes on apartments, car leases, or private school tuition.

FWRD AXIS reported last week District Attorney Cy Vance’s office was expected to charge the Trump Organization sometime this week.

Attorney Ron Fischetti, a lawyer for the Trumps, called the coming charges “completely outrageous” and said Trump himself would not be a part of the charges.

“They could not get him to cooperate because he would not say that Donald Trump had knowledge or any information that he may have been not deducting properly the use of cars or an apartment,” he said.

The former president has lashed out at their inquiries, aiming at Vance and New York state Attorney General Letitia James, both Democrats, as “politically motivated”.

“Having politically motivated prosecutors, people who actually got elected because they will ‘get Donald Trump,’ is a very dangerous thing for our Country,” he said in a statement earlier this week. “Why would anyone bring their company to New York, or even stay in New York, knowing these Radical Left Democrats would willingly target their company is viewed as a political opponent? It is devastating for New York!”
