Elon Musk on Saturday tweeted he is limiting the daily number of tweets users can read after thousands of users reported having problems on the platform.
Musk said that verified accounts are limited to reading 6,000 posts a day. Meanwhile, the unverified accounts will drop to 600 posts a day. New unverified users can only access 300 posts a day.
Since the initial tweet, Musk has increased the number of tweets read per day.
Musk said the plan was put in place to “address extreme levels of data scraping & system manipulation.” The latest outage is the latest in a growing number since he took over Twitter a year ago.
Thousands of users were met with a “Rate limit exceeded” or “Cannot retrieve tweets” error message when logging onto the app, mobile site, or website.
Twitter responded to Fwrd Axis News’ request for comment with the poop emoji.
Earlier this year, Twitter users were unable to post on the site for over an hour after an error message, and back in March, users were unable to click on links or load images.
