Elon Musk Says He Will Resign As Twitter CEO When Replacement Is Found

A whopping 57 percent of users responded that he should step down while 42 percent said he should stay on as CEO.

(Fwrd Axis) — Elon Musk said Tuesday he will step down as Twitter CEO when he finds someone “foolish” enough to replace him, just 24 hours after he conducted a poll on the social media platform.

The Tesla owner confirmed the news in a tweet, saying he will remain at the company to run its software and servers teams. The news comes after Musk posted a poll on Twitter, asking users if he should step down from his role.

A whopping 57 percent of users responded that he should step down while 42 percent said he should stay on as CEO.

A deal between Musk and Twitter was finalized back in October worth $44 billion.

“No one wants the job who can actually keep Twitter alive. There is no successor,” Musk tweeted after the results of the poll were final.

The news comes amid a barrage of criticism since Elon Musk’s takeover from mass layoffs to banning journalists from the platform.
