Biden Formally Accepts Invitation To Queen Elizabeth II’s Funeral

Queen Elizabeth II passed away on September 8 at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.

WASHINGTON (Fwrd Axis) — President Joe Biden will attend Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral on September 19 after formally accepting an invitation on Sunday and will be accompanied by the First Lady, Jill Biden, the White House said.

“President Biden formally accepted an invitation to attend the State Funeral Service of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on September 19,” the White House said. “He will be accompanied by the First Lady.”

Queen Elizabeth II passed away on September 8 at Balmoral Castle in Scotland hours after Buckingham Palace reported doctors were concerned for her health.

“In a world of constant change, she was a steadying presence and a source of comfort and pride for generations of Britons, including many who have never known their country without her,” the Bidens said in a statement after her death. “An enduring admiration for Queen Elizabeth II united people across the Commonwealth. The seven decades of her history-making reign bore witness to an age of unprecedented human advancement and the forward march of human dignity.”

Biden recently met Queen Elizabeth II in June 2021 during his first overseas trip. Queen Elizabeth II met with 13 U.S. presidents including every president since Dwight Eisenhower, excluding Lyndon Johnson.
