FBI Releases New Details On Man Seen At Nancy Guthrie’s Home

Authorities are looking for a male, who is 5’9” to 5’10” tall.

The FBI on Thursday released a video showing the suspect seen on the porch of Nancy Guthrie’s home the morning she disappeared as the search continues for the 84-year-old mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie.

Authorities are looking for a male, who is 5’9” to 5’10” tall, with an average build. He was wearing a black, 24-liter Ozark Trail Hiker Pack backpack based on the video.

The Ozark Trail brand is a private label brand exclusive to Walmart. So, when bought new, it can only be purchased at Walmart.

Walmart did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said “several items of evidence” have been recovered, including gloves. The evidence is being analyzed, authorities said.

The sheriff’s department is utilizing Ring’s Neighbors app to connect with residents in the vicinity. They are requesting any video footage from January 1st to February 2nd that includes vehicles, vehicle traffic, people or pedestrians, and anything that neighbors deem unusual or relevant to their investigation.

Investigators arrived at Nancy Guthrie’s home on Thursday morning to briefly erect a white tent — typically used for privacy — outside her front door.

Investigators took the tent down after about an hour and drove away in unmarked vehicles with a large Pelican case labeled “video forensics.”

In a new Instagram post on Thursday, Savannah Guthrie shared an old home video from her childhood, showing her and her sister with their mother, Nancy Guthrie. The video is followed by a still photo of all three siblings with Nancy Guthrie.

“[O]ur lovely mom,” Savannah Guthrie wrote in the caption. “we will never give up on her. thank you for your prayers and hope.”

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is now asking Nancy Guthrie’s neighbors to check their home security cameras for footage from an earlier timeframe than the early morning of Feb. 1
