Israel And Iran Launch First Attacks Since Ceasefire

Several blasts were heard in Tehran, Tabriz and Isfahan.

Israel’s military said early Monday local time that it struck Iranian military targets in the first strikes since a ceasefire was announced last month between the two countries.

Israel said on Telegram that the Israeli air force hit targets “belonging to the Iranian terror regime.” Several blasts were heard in Tehran, Tabriz and Isfahan, Iran’s semiofficial Mehr News Agency reported.

U.S. President Donald Trump tried to stop Israel from retaliating against Iran, he said in an interview with Axios on Sunday.

“I am going to call Bibi right now and tell him not to retaliate,” Trump said, according to the outlet, referring to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. “Each of them had their fun. Israel had its strike, and Iran had its strike. We don’t need another one.”

Trump has said Netanyahu “won’t have any choice” but to accept whatever deal he negotiates with Iran.

“I call the shots. I call all the shots. He doesn’t call the shots,” Trump said in an interview with The Financial Times on Sunday.

The U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem told U.S. government employees and their family members to shelter in place.

“In the event of missile, rocket fire, or hostile aircraft intrusion, a ‘red alert’ siren may be activated,” says the embassy’s alert, which was issued before Israeli strikes on Iran. “Follow the instructions from local authorities and the Israeli Home Front Command and seek shelter immediately.”

The IDF warned Israelis on Monday that it had identified a new round of missiles launched from Iran toward Israel.

“The public is asked to act responsibly and follow the instructions — they save lives,” IDF said on Telegram.

All airports in western Iran have been closed until further notice, Iranian Fars News agency said this morning, citing Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization. It said that following reports of attacks on Tehran’s airports, both Mehrabad International Airport and Imam Khomeini International Airport had also been closed.

Trump said on Truth Social on Monday that “Israel and Iran must immediately stop ‘shooting.’” — marking his first public comments on the ongoing strikes.
