Premiere: KAT “Barbie” (featuring Devontée) Music Video

Spring is approaching, but the brand new music video from Bay Area-born singer KAT has us thinking about summer already! KAT’s brand new single, “Barbie,” was released on March 5 and features Canadian rapper Devontée.

The colorful video, directed by Josh Fields of Hatch Films (E40, Too Short), masterfully matches the sultry aesthetic of the song itself and KAT’s vocals shine throughout the track, recorded with Engineer/Producer/Mixer Jerry Ososkie (Wyclef Jean, Smash Mouth) at Pleasure Point Productions (Santa Cruz, California). The talented Devontée – fun fact – has ties to basketball royalty in family members Steph and Ayesha Curry, with NOW Magazine labeling him the “Secret Bridge between the Toronto Raptors and the Warriors”

In a press release, KAT is described as “that girl who always finds a way to get what she wants. Determination,  Passion and Quirkiness are the three words that best describe this upcoming Artist.” The video shows all of these traits, with a charisma and energy that exudes from her soulful voice and inner beauty that makes its way to the surface and beyond. Through years of honing her craft, KAT has found her voice. Her confidence is admirable and well-earned. And it’s just the beginning for this incredibly multi-talented artist.
