Jamie Lynn Spears Joins ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Season 32

Spears is the third celebrity to be confirmed for the new season.

The stars are set to enter the ballroom and ABC confirmed Tuesday that Jamie Lynn Spears will be the latest star to compete when Dancing With The Stars returns for its 32nd season.

Spears along with her professional partner, Alan Bersten, appeared on Good Morning America to announce the news. Spears says she will donate her weekly salary to SAG-AFTRA and the WGA amid the ongoing strikes.

“I mean, I don’t know if one can ever be 100 percent ready to take on something this big. I didn’t realize what a commitment it was. But it definitely is. I’m ready to challenge myself,” Spears said.

“And also being able to do it for a reason that means a lot to me, while everybody in my community is on strike and SAG, I’ve had this unique opportunity where I was offered a chance to work when my community cannot work,” she added. “So I figured I’ll do this and I’ll donate my weekly salary to SAG, WGA, just to give back to them at a time when they can’t give to themselves.”

Spears is best known for her role on Nickelodeon’s Zoey 101, which recently aired its new Zoey 102 movie.

Spears is the third celebrity to be confirmed for the new season, joining Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix and The Bachelorette star Charity Lawson.

“I grew up with the traditional sense of dancing, like everyone does tap, jazz, ballet, and then I went more of the cheerleader route. So it’s a different kind of dancing… you have to fully commit,” Spears said.

The full cast will be unveiled on Wednesday morning on ABC’s Good Morning America.

Dancing With The Stars returns to ABC on a new night, Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 8 p.m. ET with hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough.
