President Donald Trump said Monday that he’s considering firing Kimberly Guilfoyle, who has served as the U.S. ambassador to Greece since 2025, amid allegations of misconduct related to her role.
“We’re looking at it,” Trump said when asked by reporters if he’s contemplating firing Guilfoyle, as first reported by The Associated Press.
“We’re not happy,” Trump added.
His comments come days after he was first asked about the allegations against his former campaign surrogate, striking a softer tone at the time.

“I just heard a little bit about it. I don’t know too much, but she was always very nice,” he said at the time.
An attorney for Guilfoyle, a former Fox News personality who was set to be engaged to Trump’s oldest son, Donald Trump Jr. at one time, did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Monday.
The news comes after scathing reports in The Wall Street Journal of misconduct in her role as ambassador, including allegedly bragging about her connections to Greek businessmen who she said funded luxury trips for her.
Trump donor Eric Deters came forward accusing Guilfoyle of asking him to pay her $100,000 American Express bill prior to her 2025 confirmation hearing in the Senate.
The report in the WSJ had text message exchanges between Guilfoyle and Deters, which White House officials were told are real despite Guilfoyle’s lawyer disputing the authenticity of the texts to The Wall Street Journal.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio visited Greece last week and greeted Guilfoyle with a hug. Rubio did not respond to questions from reporters about the allegations while he was in Greece.
“I’m not going to comment on a story that literally posted a few hours ago and especially not when I’m in a different country,” he said.
