Alex Trebek Passes Away, Aged 80

The longtime Jeopardy! host had succumbed to a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Today, Sunday November 8, 2020, the beloved host Alex Trebek passed away after his battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 80 years old.

After first announcing his diagnosis back in March 2019, Trebek made numerous updates with regards to his health, never wavering in his positive spirit and courage in the fact of something so daunting. His legacy will live on in the hearts of millions who have tuned in for the last three decades to Jeopardy!, playing along and enjoying his wit and professionalism.

Mustache, no mustache, or sometimes even a beard – Alex Trebek captivated audiences every night and won seven Emmys during his career. He will be greatly missed.

Trebek is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jean, and children Matthew, Emily, and Nicky. The family has announced no plans for a service, but gifts in Trebek’s  memory could go to World Vision.
