Dua Lipa Proves She’s A Force To Be Reckoned With As She Wraps U.S. Leg Of Tour

(Fwrd Axis) — With the crowd screaming, British pop star Dua Lipa rose to the stage at FTX Arena in Miami on February 9 to kick off her highly anticipated “Future Nostalgia” tour that had been two years in the making. As she wraps up the U.S. leg of the tour, selling out 29 arenas around the country, Lipa has proven she is pop’s next superstar.

From the minute she took the stage, Lipa’s show is a 90-minute dance party from start to finish. The U.K. pop sensation started every show with “Physical” while wearing a neon green/yellow jumpsuit. She then transitions into “New Rules”, her first hit in the states. From song to song, the crowd joined in singing and dancing, something Lipa always acknowledged.

“You guys are loud tonight,” a smiling Lipa tells the crowd during the songs.

Her second act begins with a large inflatable lobster for “We’re Good” and she gets the crowd going with her most sexual song on the album “Good In Bed” while dedicating the song to a member of the audience in the pit. She closes her second act with one of my personal favorite songs from her “Boys Will Be Boys”, even if I hadn’t heard it before her concert.

Remember when I said the concert is a 90-minute dance party from start to finish? Well, that proves to be true with the third act. Lipa gets the crowd going as she emerges following a costume change that begins with “One Kiss” and “Electricity”.

“Let me see you jump jump jump,” she yells as she retakes the stage.

Lipa concludes her penultimate set with “Cold Heart”, my personal favorite moment from every concert. She asks fans to put their phone lights on and sing along with her. For those two-plus minutes, everyone is united as one no matter their beliefs or other issues.

She closes her show with “Future Nostalgia” before bringing it all home with her big finale, filled with confetti cannons with “Don’t Start Now.”

What makes Lipa’s show different from other artists is that she sang the entire Future Nostalgia album and she puts her band and singers first, introducing them before herself, showing off her humble attitude.

“I want to say thank you. Thank you for all your support and for listening to this music,” she tells the crowd at each show. “This has always been my dream and to be here right now is insane.”

As Lipa takes a two-week break before kicking off the European leg of the tour, there is no doubt she is proving she is a pop superstar and those who go to her show will be in for a real treat for 90-plus minutes.
